6. What does =LEFT("Excellent", 5) return? - LEFT("Excellent", 5) takes the first five characters of the text: Excel.
7. What does =LEFT(A1, LEN(A2)) return? - LEN(A2) counts Hi as 2, so LEFT(A1, 2) takes the first two characters of Hello: He.
8. Write an INDEX function, using A1:B4 as the range, that returns "Jefferson" - Inside A1:B4, Jefferson is in the third row and first column. That makes the INDEX position row 3, column 1.
9. Use a combination of LEFT and RIGHT to return "ha". - One route is LEFT(A1, 3), which gives Tha, then RIGHT(..., 2), which gives ha. The other route takes RIGHT(A1, 3) first, giving hat, then LEFT(..., 2).
10. Use a combination of RIGHT and LEN to return "789" - C1 contains $@#, which is three characters long. LEN(C1) returns 3, so RIGHT(A1, 3) returns the last three characters of 123456789: 789.
