Privacy Policy

What LogicExcel collects, why, and how you stay in control.

This policy explains how LogicExcel ("we", "us") handles information when you visit logicexcel.com. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be clear about the rest. If you have questions, email admin@logicexcel.com.

1. Information we collect

  • Learning progress. Your lesson progress, streak, and preferences are stored in your browser (local storage). If you create an account and sign in, this progress is also saved to our database so it syncs across your devices.
  • Account details. If you sign in, we receive a basic identifier and email address from the sign-in provider so we can save your progress and show a leaderboard name. We do not receive your password.
  • Things you submit. When you send an exercise request, post to the leaderboard, or use the contact form, we store what you typed (and, for the contact form, the email address you provide) so we can respond.
  • Usage data. Like most sites, we automatically receive standard technical data such as your approximate region, device and browser type, referring page, and the pages you view.
  • Answers you check. When you check an answer on an exercise, in a course lesson or in a course exam, we count, per screen and per day, whether it was right, and keep the text of wrong answers. That is how we find screens that mark a correct answer wrong. The count carries no account, email address or IP address.
  • Notes on a missed answer. If you ask for a note after a missed answer, the question and what you typed are sent to an AI model that Cloudflare runs for us, to write the note. We keep the note with what you typed and any thumbs up or down you give it, so we can check the notes help. None of it carries your account, email address or IP address.
  • Which days of the free accounting course you finish. If you sign up for the free five-day accounting course, the lesson links in our emails set two small cookies in your browser. One holds a code tied to your sign-up that page scripts cannot read and that never appears in a page address; the other only says the first exists. When you finish a day, we store the day number and the time against your sign-up, and nothing else: no answers and no scores. We use it so that a later email can say you finished day 5, or point you back to a day you have not finished. If more than one person uses the same browser, a day finished there is recorded against the sign-up whose email link was opened last. We stop recording when you unsubscribe, and deleting your sign-up deletes what we stored.
  • The month-end check. When you take the free month-end check, we store your answers, your score by topic, when you started and finished, the ad or page that brought you and your approximate country, under a random code that only your browser holds. None of it carries an email address or IP address. If you then ask for your breakdown by email, we tie that sitting to your sign-up for the free accounting course, so the first lesson can carry your breakdown and the lesson on your weakest topic can say so. Deleting your sign-up removes that link.
  • The Thursday tip, if you ask for it. If you press the button that asks for the weekly Thursday tip, we store the time you pressed it against your sign-up, and which tips we have sent you and when, so you get each one once. The link in our email sets a small cookie for an hour that only says which sign-up is asking; it never appears in a page address. Every tip has a link that stops them, which clears that time, and unsubscribing from the course emails stops them too.
  • If you buy the paid course. Payment is taken by an online reseller that acts as the merchant of record. It, not us, receives your card or other payment details, and its own privacy policy covers them. We receive your email address, the order number, the amount and currency, the ad or email that brought you, and your sign-in identifier if you were signed in, so we can open the course for you and answer questions about your order. If you give the course as a gift, we also receive the recipient's email address and the names you gave.

2. Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand which lessons are useful and where people get stuck, in aggregate. These services may set cookies or similar identifiers and process usage data on our behalf. We use this only to improve the site, not to identify you personally. You can learn more from Google's privacy policy and Microsoft's privacy statement.

3. Advertising and cookies

We may display advertising to keep LogicExcel free. Advertising partners, which may include Google AdSense, can use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and in some cases to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies such as Google's advertising cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this site or others.

On the accounting course pages only, and only for visitors in the United States, Canada (outside Quebec), Australia and New Zealand, we use the Meta pixeland Meta's Conversions API to measure our own Facebook and Instagram ads and to show them to people who have visited those pages. Each visit to those pages is reported to Meta, and so is each sign-up for the free course, each time you open the checkout and each purchase. Every report carries your IP address and browser details, the page and, where we have it, your email address in hashed (one-way scrambled) form. We do not send lesson answers or month-end check answers, and we do not use the pixel anywhere else on the site. Blocking cookies for logicexcel.com does not stop this, because the sign-up and purchase reports are sent from our server. You can limit how Meta uses them for ads by turning off ad personalisation in your Facebook and Instagram settings (Meta's ad preferences).

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google via Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.

4. Managing cookies and your choices

  • You can browse and complete lessons without signing in.
  • Your browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage at any time; doing so may reset your saved progress and streak.
  • You can opt out of personalised ads using the links in section 3.
  • You can ask us to delete data tied to your account or a submission (see section 7).

5. How we use information

We use the information above to run and improve the lessons, save and sync your progress, show leaderboards and respond to requests and messages, keep the service secure and prevent abuse, and - where you have not opted out - to fund the site through advertising. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Sharing and processors

We share data only with the service providers that make LogicExcel work - for example our hosting and database provider (Google Firebase), analytics providers, advertising partners, and the online reseller that takes payment for the paid course - each processing data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email admin@logicexcel.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Children

LogicExcel is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.

10. Contact

For any privacy question or request, email admin@logicexcel.com or use the contact page.
