Was du in dieser FILTER Function-Lektion üben wirst

  1. FILTER returns only the rows that match. Spill the East-region names with =FILTER(A2:A6,B2:B6,"East") — wait, the condition is B2:B6="East". Type =FILTER(A2:A6,B2:B6="East"). - array is the names. include is TRUE on every East row. FILTER spills Lee and Chen down from E2. The source table is not filtered in place.
  2. Return the whole row this time — name, region, and sales — for every East region: =FILTER(A2:C6,B2:B6="East"). - The array is now three columns wide, so FILTER spills Lee/East/800 and Chen/East/610 as a block. include still has to be one column, the same height as the array.
  3. Filter on a number. Keep rows where sales are greater than 500: =FILTER(A2:C6,C2:C6>500). - C2:C6>500 is TRUE for 800, 610 and 900. Patel (420) and Ortiz (150) drop out.
  4. AND two conditions by multiplying them. East and sales over 500: =FILTER(A2:C6,(B2:B6="East")*(C2:C6>500)). - TRUE*TRUE becomes 1, anything times FALSE becomes 0. Only Lee (East, 800) and Chen (East, 610) survive. Kim is over 500 but West.
  5. No South rows exist. Avoid #CALC! by passing a fallback: =FILTER(A2:A6,B2:B6="South","None"). - The third argument is if_empty. When nothing matches, FILTER returns that text instead of #CALC!. Always add it on dashboards.
  6. OR uses addition. East or North: =FILTER(A2:C6,(B2:B6="East")+(B2:B6="North")). - TRUE+FALSE is 1, so a row is kept if either condition is true. Lee, Chen, and Ortiz come back. West rows stay out.
