  • LAMBDA function

    L'équipe LogicExcel

Thanks again for asking for this. Last time I said an English LAMBDA guide was worth doing, and it is now live: https://logicexcel.com/functions/lambda-function-excel It covers what LAMBDA is for, the test call in brackets that clears the #CALC! error almost everyone hits first, saving your function in the Name Manager so you can call it by name, and a worked example from start to finish. There is a short table of the errors and what each one usually means. One thing worth knowing before you try it: LAMBDA is in Microsoft 365 and Excel for the web only, so on Excel 2019 or 2021 it will not be there at all. There is still no marked LAMBDA exercise, so this card stays open and I will update it when we build one. In the meantime the logic inside most custom functions is ordinary Excel, and those you can practise today: https://logicexcel.com/practice/9 for IF and https://logicexcel.com/practice/64 for IFS.

  • Running total

    L'équipe LogicExcel

Thanks for asking for this. There is no running total exercise yet, but two pages will get you there today. /functions/offset builds a running total step by step. And if your numbers are in a PivotTable, /tutorials/pivot-tables covers the Running Total In setting, which does it without a formula at all. The exercise we want to add is the everyday one, =SUM($B$2:B2) filled down the column. It is on the list, and I will update this card when it lands.

  • TEXTBEFORE and TEXTAFTER

    L'équipe LogicExcel

Thanks for asking for these. Until there is an exercise for them, you can already do the same job with FIND together with LEFT or MID: lesson 35 (/practice/35) teaches FIND, lesson 50 (/practice/50) teaches MID, and the guide at /functions/extract-first-word shows LEFT and FIND pulling out the text before a space. TEXTBEFORE and TEXTAFTER do that in one step, and they are on the list. I will update this card when the exercise is up.

  • sql subqueries, having, group by etc

    L'équipe LogicExcel

Thanks for asking for this, and for the vote! GROUP BY, HAVING and subqueries are the natural next step after our SQL lessons, so it is a good one to ask for. The closest thing on the site today is the four aggregate lessons: MIN and MAX at /sql/ps15, COUNT at /sql/ps16, AVG at /sql/ps19 and SUM at /sql/ps20. GROUP BY runs those same functions once for each group instead of once for the whole table, so they are the best warm up. There is no lesson on GROUP BY, HAVING or subqueries yet. It is on the list, and I will update this card when it lands.

  • Can you give me a pdfs of all the excercises for excel

    L'équipe LogicExcel

Yes, and it is being worked on. We are building out deeper premium content at the moment, and downloadable resources are part of that: workbooks and printable exercise sets, rather than a flat PDF of the screens, which would lose the grid you actually type into. No date yet and I would rather not invent one. The 95 practice lessons stay free in the browser whatever happens to the downloads.

  • EXPLAIN ALL FORMULA WORK

    L'équipe LogicExcel

Thanks for asking for this! The Excel Functions Guide at /functions does just that: each guide takes one function, like SUMIFS or VLOOKUP, and explains what it does, what each part of the formula means, and works through examples you can follow. Guides marked "Has practice" link to an exercise, so you can try the formula straight after reading about it. Have fun exploring!

  • SUMIFS XLOOKUP pivottables

    L'équipe LogicExcel

Thanks for asking! Good news: all three are already here. SUMIFS is lesson 30 at /practice/30, pivot tables start at lesson 37 (/practice/37), and XLOOKUP is lesson 63 (/practice/63). Each one has more practice after it too: SUMIFS again in lesson 61, and a second pivot table lesson at 38. Enjoy!

  • COUNTIFS

    L'équipe LogicExcel

Good news, this one is already here. COUNTIFS is lesson 27: /practice/27. Ten screens on a real grid, starting with two conditions and working up to criteria like ">1". If you would rather build up to it, COUNTIF with a single condition is lesson 26, and lesson 56 is a longer practice run once it clicks. Sorry you had to ask for something we already had. That one is on us.
